We watched a video about the Changing States of Matter. We wanted to find out what happens when a solid (bicarb soda) is mixed with a liquid (white vinegar).
Materials:
* plastic bottle
* bicarb soda
* white vinegar
* balloon
* spoon
Procedure:
Step 1. We stretched out the neck of the balloon so we could put a spoon of bicarb soda in it.
Step 2. We put some vinegar in the plastic bottle.
Step 3. We attached the neck of balloon to the neck of the bottle.
Step 4. We tipped the balloon up so the bicarb soda mixed with the vinegar.
Results:
The balloon expanded because the mixture of bicarb soda and vinegar created the gas, carbon dioxide.
Our experiment worked well because our balloon expanded quite a lot.
